Marquin Rinard earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from Auburn University and his law degree from the University of San Diego. Marquin is an experienced trial attorney, having practiced criminal law since 1983. He began his career with the Public Defender’s Office for the Twentieth Circuit of Florida where he handled all juvenile, misdemeanor, and felony cases including violent crimes, sex offenses, and murder. He served as the head of the Public Defender’s Office for Hendry and Glades Counties where he had a full felony case load and trained new attorneys. Marquin was ultimately promoted to Deputy Public Defender and supervisor of the Child Victim Crimes Division and the Capital Crimes Division for Lee and Charlotte Counties.

In 2006, Marquin went into private practice, and since entering private practice he has represented clients from the Florida Panhandle to the Florida Keys. Marquin is a death qualified attorney, and from his first death penalty case in 1984 through his last case in 2015, has represented over 25 clients charged with first degree murder. Marquin joined Ringsmuth, Day & O’Halloran in 2015, where he has continued his career as a criminal trial attorney.
